Our Reviews of the Top Leupold Rangefinders
Leupold GX-6C Laser Rangefinder
Review
The Leupold GX-6C is an absolute beast, and in our opinion is the second best rangefinder on the market (the Bushnell Pro XE is the only one that tops it). The specs speak for themselves and this range finder is as accurate as it gets, but it also comes with some other interesting features.
This rangefinder takes the line of sight as well as the slope into consideration when calculating distances. Additionally, it can take into account the temperature and the elevation to provide the best possible accuracy. The club selector feature allows you to enter the distances you typically hit a 4, 6, and 8 iron. Then when it gives you the yardage for the next shot, you can also have it suggest which club to use.
Fog mode makes it so the GX-6C can still provide distance readings without losing accuracy. This feature may not be useful to many of you, but if you are a traveling golfer or live in a place that gets a lot of foggy days, this feature will be very important to you. Most golf rangefinders perform poorly in fog.
One touch scan mode is really cool. Scan mode in general makes it so you can get multiple distances, one right after the other. Often times you have to push the button each time you want a distance calculated. One touch scan mode makes it so all you do is hold down the power button and you will get continuous, accurate distance readings on the display.
Overall, the only negative about the GX-6C is the price. It is extremely accurate, very cool looking, has every advanced feature you could want, and is built to last. As I mentioned, it sits right near the top of the list of the very best in terms of both quality and performance.

Leupold GX-5C Golf Range Finder
Review
The GX-5C has the exact same special features and functionality as the GX-6C. There are 3 key differences between the two: appearance, display, and range. The GX-5C is slightly longer and ½” shorter than the GX-6C, and there are those of you that will prefer how it feels in your hand.
The LCD is a step down from the OLED offering from the 6C. When we compared the two, the OLED screen is definitely clearer and sharper. That said, we didn’t any have trouble viewing or locking in on all of our targets with the LCD screen on the 5C.
You also lose a bit of range with the 5C compared to the 6C. Specifically, the max reflective range drops by about 140 yards and the max flag range drops by 50 yards. We played with the GX for an entire round of golf and it handled every distance we needed.
You still get the accuracy, club selector, fog mode, one touch scan, and all of the other great functionality that comes with the 6C. The 5C really packs a punch and for virtually all of the same functionality (just a lower quality screen and shorter distance) at a lower price point, the GX-5C might be a better choice than the GX-6C for many of you.

Review
The Leupold PinCaddie 3 does a good job of what it’s meant to do: provide accurate distances. It doesn’t provide the range and doesn’t come with all of the bells and whistles of the GX-5C. Specifically, no slope or weather consideration is given to distances. It also doesn’t have the club selector or the fog mode.
However, it does have the one touch scan feature, which was our favorite feature as we found it the most useful. The PinCaddie 3 is a great tool. It’s reliable and it’s accurate. For those of you that are happy to bypass the price tag and the bells and whistles for a solid rangefinder that will give you consistently accurate distances, the PinCaddie 3 is a very good option for you.
