Top TecTecTec Rangefinders
Our Top Picks
TecTecTec used to just make entry level rangefinders that were inexpensive and okay quality. Recently, however, they have stepped their game up. Each of their rangefinders we tested were good to great quality, and they have multiple offerings now that are several levels above entry level range finders.
We started hearing that TecTecTec yardage finders were getting better and noticed them becoming much more popular. So, we decided to take out a few different TecTecTec range finders to see for ourselves how far they’ve come, to compare and contrast the different models, and to provide you with reviews to help in your purchasing decision. We hope this helps!
TecTecTec Range Finder Reviews
TecTecTec ULT-S Golf Rangefinder
Review
The ULT-S is TecTecTec’s premium offering. It holds its own as a premium product, even though its price tag is much lower than some other premium finders. The TecTecTec ULT-S has a lot of really nice features. It is accurate within 3/10 of a yard for distances under 300 yards, ½ of a yard for distances under 600 yards, and within 1 yard for distances under 1,000 yards. As far as accuracy goes, it competes well with the best rangefinders on the market.
Its slope feature takes into account inclines and declines in the terrain to provide more accurate distance measurements. All you have to do is pull on the faceplate, extending it about ½” to turn on the slope feature. Simply push the faceplate back to turn the slope feature off. The method for turning the slope feature on and off is very easy and clever.
It has a vibrate feature for when the target is locked in. We actually found the vibrate feature very reassuring and oddly satisfying. There was no second guessing whether the target had actually been locked or not. The scan mode feature is also great. It allows you to get multiple distances, one after the other, so you can quickly scan what it will take to clear any and all obstacles in your way. We also really like that it comes with a 2-year warranty and a 100-day money back guarantee.

TecTecTec ULT-X Range Finder
Review
The TecTecTec ULT-X is a great rangefinder in its own right. It is very accurate, and its PinSlope technology ensures that it remains accurate, even when hitting uphill or downhill. It also has a scan mode, which allows you to check multiple distances quickly.
The quality of the ULT-X is good. It is also very easy to use and was very accurate in our testing.

TecTecTec ULT-S vs ULT-X
Both the TecTecTec ULT-S and the TecTecTec ULT-X come with slope features and scan features that work very well. The ULT-X falls short of the ULT-S in the yardage range and accuracy categories. It also doesn’t have the vibrate feature, which confirms when the target has been locked. The optics are also better in the ULT-S rangefinder. The ULT-S is definitely the superior rangefinder, but the ULT-X can still get the job done.
TecTecTec VPRO500 Yardage Finder
Review
When we tested the VPRO500, we found that it did a good job. We found it to be accurate and, as with all of the TecTecTec rangefinders, easy to use. The VPRO500 doesn’t have a slope feature, but it does have scan mode, which is still a really great thing to have. Being able to quickly scan distances of multiple hazards and other obstacles is very convenient and speeds up the process significantly. So how does it compare to the 500S?

TecTecTec VPRO500S vs VPRO500
The only difference between the VPRO500S and the VPRO500 is that the 500S comes with the slope feature, whereas the 500 doesn’t (do you see how the “S” stands for slope?). If you think you can live without the slope feature, save yourself some money and get the VPRO500. If you play a lot of hilly or mountainous courses regularly, we suggest getting the VPRO500S for more accurate distance measurements on uphill and downhill shots.
